README file from "ChallengeIO" directory

                ~4Dgifts/toolbox/perfTuning/ChallengeIO README

These slides were prepared by engineers within Silicon Graphics primarily
as a presentation for internal SGI employees. Its purpose is to help
people find out how to make the best use of our systems and show what can
   be done.

In this presentation, references are made to firmware upgrades that allow
full video i/o from/to disk. At the time of writing, that firmware was
not released. It has now been released and been cut into manufacturing.
Disks in the field prior to this release will not have this new firmware
and there are currently no plans to retrofit this firmware.
